About Beth

I built Be The Steady Mom because I needed it first.

Co-parenting coach. Former high-conflict spouse. The method came from my own kitchen table.

I'm Beth. A few years ago I sat across from my kids at the dinner table and realized something had shifted — not because of anything they'd done, but because of how I was showing up. I'd been married, then I wasn't, and the version of me talking to them was frayed at the edges. I was either too sharp or too soft, and the in-between felt impossible to find.

It wasn't one bad night. It was a hundred small ones — the texts I'd send and regret, the calls I'd take in the other room, the way I'd rehearse responses to things that hadn't happened yet. I was spending more energy managing the other person than I was spending being the parent my kids needed.

A friend who worked in family law handed me a copy of a co-parenting framework I'd never heard of. Within a week I'd read it twice. Within a month I'd taken my first coaching course. Within a year I'd finished the certification I'm still building on. The thing that surprised me wasn't that the tools worked. It was that I'd been missing a vocabulary for what I was already trying to do.

I built Be The Steady Mom for the woman I was at that kitchen table — the woman who wanted to stay herself through the divorce and into the years after. Not a louder version of herself. A steadier one. That distinction is the whole project.

Today I coach women through the same arc. Some are weeks into a separation. Some are years past one. Almost all of them have the same first sentence: I just don't want my kids to see me like this. That's the sentence we start from.

"I built the method I needed at my own kitchen table — calm, clear, and built to hold up under the kind of pressure that makes you forget who you are. The goal isn't to win. It's to stay yourself."
